Hemang Badani is a former Indian international cricketer and a highly respected cricket coach. Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Badani was a versatile left-handed batsman and a useful slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He represented the Indian national cricket team in both Test and One Day International formats during the early 2000s. Badani is best remembered for his composed batting style and his match-winning maiden ODI century against a formidable Australian side in Pune in 2001. Over his international career, he played 40 ODIs and 4 Test matches for his country.

At the domestic level, Badani was a stalwart for Tamil Nadu, consistently scoring runs and leading the state team in domestic tournaments. He also briefly represented the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and played in the Indian Cricket League earlier in his career. After retiring from active play, Badani successfully transitioned into coaching and commentary. He achieved immense success in the Tamil Nadu Premier League as the head coach of the Chepauk Super Gillies, leading them to multiple championship titles. His tactical acumen paved the way for prominent roles in franchise cricket, including serving as the fielding coach for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and head coach for the Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League. In 2024, he was appointed as the head coach of the Delhi Capitals for the IPL, cementing his status as one of India's prominent cricket strategists.
