Former Chief Minister of Gujarat

Vijaybhai Ramniklal Rupani is an Indian politician who served as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2016 to 2021. Born on August 2, 1956, in Rangoon, Burma (now Yangon, Myanmar), Rupani's family relocated to Rajkot, Gujarat, when he was a child. He began his public life early as a student activist with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), eventually spending time in jail during the 1975 Emergency. Rupani rose through the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), serving as the Mayor of Rajkot from 1996 to 1997. His political career expanded as he served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2012. Zerodha Broking Limited

Zerodha Broking Limited is a leading Indian financial services company and retail stockbroker headquartered in Bengaluru, India. Founded in August 2010 by the brothers Nithin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath, the company fundamentally disrupted the Indian retail investing landscape by introducing a low-cost discount brokerage model. Its unique name combines "Zero" with "Rodha", the Sanskrit word for barrier, reflecting its core mission to eliminate hurdles for ordinary retail traders. Unlike legacy stockbrokers that charged percentage-based commission fees, Zerodha introduced flat-fee structures for intraday trading and made long-term equity delivery completely free. Remarkably, the firm scaled into a highly profitable unicorn enterprise while remaining completely bootstrapped without any external venture capital or private equity investments. Under the technical guidance of chief technology officer Dr. Kailash Nadh, Zerodha built a highly efficient proprietary tech stack. Its core ecosystem features Kite, a high-frequency trading platform, Coin for direct mutual funds, and Varsity, a prominent financial education platform. By 2019, Zerodha grew to become the largest retail stockbroker in India by active user base. In addition to its retail brokerage services, the company drives expansion across the Indian fintech and wealth ecosystem through its startup incubator and fund Rainmatter, alternative investment fund True Beacon, and the Zerodha Fund House asset management venture.
