Pranab Mukherjee was an eminent Indian statesman who served as the 13th President of India from 2012 to 2017. Prior to his presidency, he served as the Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012, navigating the country through the global financial crisis. He also held the critical portfolios of Minister of External Affairs, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Commerce at various times, showcasing his versatile governance capabilities.
