Mohan Yadav is an Indian politician serving as the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh since December 2023. A prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Yadav represents the Ujjain Dakshin constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Born in Ujjain, he completed his education at Vikram University, earning several academic degrees including a Bachelor of Laws, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctor of Philosophy. Yadav began his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, in the 1980s. He gradually climbed the political ranks, securing his first electoral victory as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 2013 from Ujjain Dakshin. He was re-elected in 2018 and served as the Minister of Higher Education in the state cabinet from 2020 to 2023. Following the party's victory in the 2023 elections, Yadav was selected to lead the state as Chief Minister, succeeding long-serving leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
