Jhulan Nishit Goswami is an Indian former international cricketer who played for the Indian women's national cricket team. An all-rounder who bowled right-arm medium-fast and batted right-handed, she is widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of women's cricket. She played 204 ODI matches and took 255 wickets, holding the record for the highest number of wickets in women's One Day International cricket. Over a career spanning two decades, she anchored the Indian bowling attack and led the team as captain from 2008 to 2011. Goswami was born in Chakdaha, West Bengal, and overcame various socio-economic barriers to pursue cricket. She made her international debut in 2002 against England. Throughout her career, she won numerous accolades, including the ICC Women's Player of the Year in 2007, the Arjuna Award in 2010, and the Padma Shri in 2012, one of India's highest civilian honors. In 2022, she announced her retirement from international cricket, playing her final match at Lord's against England.
