Acharya Devvrat is an Indian politician and educator who currently serves as the Governor of Gujarat, a position he has held since July 2019. Born on January 18, 1959, in Samalkha, Haryana, he has dedicated a major part of his life to education, social reform, and agricultural development. Prior to his gubernatorial appointment in Gujarat, he served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 2015 to 2019. Before entering public office, Acharya Devvrat served as the Principal of the Gurukul Kurukshetra in Haryana for over three decades. Under his leadership, the institution grew significantly, focusing on traditional Indian values, modern education, and holistic development. He is deeply influenced by the philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and the Arya Samaj. Acharya Devvrat is widely recognized for his passionate advocacy of natural farming and organic agricultural practices.
